C.L. Brown, 60 Dies Sunday

Well Known Resident Of Banta Neighborhood - Ill Several Weeks

BANTA, May 21 - Chester Logan Brown, age 60, died Sunday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Shufflebarger near Banta. He had suffered for some time from a heart ailment and had been critically ill for several weeks. He was a farmer and had lived with the Shufflebargers for the past 15 years.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Counselman in White River Township. Mrs. Counselman is a sister of the deceased. Burial will be made in the Salem Cemetery.

The body was taken to the Counselman home late Monday afternoon and friends may call this evening and Tuesday morning and are also invited to attend the services.

Mr. Brown was born Oct. 2, 1884, in White River Township, the son of Eli and Sarah Brunnemer Brown. He was the youngest of a family of nine children. He was unmarried and was a farmer all of his life. He was an active member of the Bargersville Masonic Lodge.

The only survivor is the sister, Mrs. Counselman, and a number of nieces and nephews.

There is no gravestone for this memorial. A slab with C. Brown was found but has since gone underground. Plot marker is not known at this time. January 2019.
