FREDERICK THOMAS WONDRASH, 95, resident of Shelby, died Friday September 30, 2016 in Crestwood Care Center following a long illness.

Born September 15, 1921 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, to George and Lena (Brenner) Wondrash he had been a Shelby resident for the past 65 years. He was employed as a screw machine operator with Galion Amco retiring in 1983.

He was a member of the Mansfield Deaf Club and was baptized and attended the Mansfield Assembly of God.

Frederick was a talented woodworker and carver who spent countless hours working on his creations out of many types of wood. His shed was filled with woodworking tools and Popular Science and Mechanics magazines.

Following his wife Donna's retirement they enjoyed visiting various sites and family. In addition to traveling he enjoyed gardening, watching the Green Bay Packers, eating out and especially spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Donna (Picking) Wondrash, whom he married June 7, 1952; his children Rosemarie Cline, Roselyn (Jamie) Ramey and Marilyn (Jim) McKinney, all of Shelby and Mark (Valerie) Wondrash, of Ashland, Ohio; five grandchildren Scott Bryant, Tracy (Andre) Cochran, Barry Cline, Jamie Ramey and Monica (Chris) Shoemaker; seven great-grandchildren Cassandra, Deidra, Andrea and Dakota Ramey, Tresten Archer, Amaria Cameron and Madeline Biedrzycki; eight step-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandchild; brother-in-law Charles Picking and sister-in-law Edna Picking, both of Shelby; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters Evelyn Wondrash Weigt, Ruth Wondrash Hendricks and Esther Wondrash Bent; one brother George Wondrash; mother and father-in-law Dewey and Irma Picking; son-in-law David Cline; brother-in-law Virgil Picking; sister-in-law Eva Picking and his late beloved pets, Blackie and Tammy.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, October 3, 2016 from the Barkdull Funeral Home. Pastor Walter Keib will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 10 a.m. to noon. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of NCO, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, Ohio, 44805.
