Martha, wife of Mahlon Milledge died at their home on North Maple street at 1 a.m., last Saturday. She has been suffering for some time with stomach trouble, which developed into gastritis and caused her death.
She was born in Cassapolis, Cass county, Mich., May 10, 1842. When she was nine years old her parents moved from Cassapolis to Garden Prairie, Ill.
In 1863 she was married to Mahlon Milledge, on her 21st birthday anniversary, in Marengo, Ill. They moved to Belvidere, where they lived 13 years, coming from there to Sycamore, where they have resided ever since.
She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, one son, Edward, and one daughter, Mrs. H. M. Orton; also two brothers, Calvin Pease, of Portland, Ore., and Hamilton Pease, of Garden Prairie, Ill.
The funeral was held at the house Monday at 2 p.m. Rev. Moore officiating. The interment was in Elmwood cemetery. Those present from out of town were: Mrs. George Hall and Mrs. George Trout, of Chicago; Mrs. Mary Pease and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Pease and Mrs. C. Wagner, of Belvidere; Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Pease, Mr. and Mrs. John Richards, Adelbert Fenton and Hamilton Pease, of Garden Prairie.
