Circumstance:
On August 1, 1940, while riding in the rear of a patrol wagon, Officer Gaile of the First Precinct, was thrown into the partition, striking his head. He died weeks later in the hospital.
Officer Gaile's funeral was held at Hysong's Funeral Home on August 22, 1940 at 3:30 PM. The Rev. Harry W. Carver, pastor of the Central Ballston,(Virginia) Methodist Church officiated. Burial was at the Columbia Gardens Cemetery. Survivors were his wife, Zennie Y. Gaile, 41 and two sons, Oscar Owen Gaile, 19 and Uel Marvin Gaile 21, of the home at 4511 Wilson Boulevard Arlington, Virginia, and a brother, Elbert Gaile, Wynnewood, Oklahoma. F/G # 46807045.
