Sarah E Bibee, daughter of Daniel Allen Bibee and Prudence Stiles was born 24 Nov 1844 near Davidson County, TN. Her family moved from Tennessee to Harrison, Hamilton County, Ohio shortly before 1860.

Her siblings include James M, Aaron Allen, William C., Alexander and Milton Bibee. (James M was killed in the Civil War, his brother Aaron was held prisoner at Andersonville.)

The Family moved to Edgar County, Ill shortly before the end of the Civil War where she married Israel Merrill.

In Sarah's Widow's Pension Application she states that her marriage took place in Vermillion, Illinois. The service was performing by R. Holding, a Minister of the Gospel. This affidavit is signed by Dan Merrill & Maud Merrill, as well as Sarah. Address of record on this date. Vernon Rte 1, Woodson County, Kansas.

Her name is on the Marker of her husband, Israel with the inscriptions, "Gone, but not forgotten."
