FORMER RESIDENT OF DAYTON DIES
George Allen, Hardware Merchant, Succumbs at Salem
DAYTON, Feb. 4 – Word has been received here of the death of George R. Allen of Salem, Jan. 20. He was a former businessman in Dayton, having owned the hardware store which W.S. U'Ren purchased from him in 1915.
The Allens were prominent in social and business circles while living in Dayton.
Mr. Allen was born in Kansas, Feb. 8, 1879, and came to Oregon in 1911. Since leaving Dayton he was engaged in the hardware business in Salem.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Marietta Allen and a son Reynolds.
