~Robert Louis Loftis~

Mr. Robert Loftis, age 73, left the cares of this world and passed into eternal peace on Thursday, June 4, 2015, having accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior last November. His loving family was with him at The McDowell Hospital when he passed away.

A son of the late Richard Loftis and Lucille Price, Robert was born in McDowell County on January 11, 1942.

It is the rare individual who enters our lives, who leaves such an impression upon us, that he becomes an immediate friend. Such was the personality of Robert Loftis who always had a kind word, a humorous anecdote, or an inspiring remark for those he knew and loved or who he just happened to meet. He attended Grace Community Church. An avid golfer, he was also an advocate for animals and would not tolerate anyone who abused them. Robert was retired from Catawba Hardwoods.

Surviving him are his wife of 32 years; four daughters; a brother; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many beloved friends.

A service in celebration of Robert's life was held on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Community Church.
