Reuben F. Bryant, son of Bert Reuben and Gertrude May Meadows Bryant, was born June 6, 1916, near Deepwater, and died Monday, December 7, 1998, at his home in Deepwater. He was a graduate of Shiloh School. He was an Army veteran of WWII. He was a Standard Oil agent for 30 years before he retired in 1978. He was a former member of the Deepwater VFW. He was also on the board of directors of the Deepwater Senior Citizens Housing Board. He was married to Mildred Ruth Martin in 1938. She preceded him in death in 1962. He later married Devon Arnold who died September 11, 1974. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one infant son; three brothers, Roy, Raymond (Bud) and Chester, and three sisters, Jewel Marie Bryant, Rosa White and Atha Young. He is survived by his daughter Shirley Underwood and husband Lynn; his two granddaughters, Kameha Underwood and Dana Winebrenner and husband Tom; his two great-grandsons, Austin Winebrenner and Alec Winebrenner; his sister Goldie Cromer and a special friend, Alberta Shepard. Funeral services were held at the Vansant-Mills Chapel on Thursday, December 10. Burial was in the Maplewood Cemetery, Brownington
