“Fifty years ago the 28th of November, Mr. James Coucher and Mrs. Jane Davis were united in marriage at Southbridge, Mass. They came west to make their home, settling on a farm two miles north of Wheeling. They retired from the farm and moved to Wheeling in 1905.
They celebrated their Golden wedding anniversary by being At Home to their friends and neighbors Tuesday afternoon and evening. A large number called to shake hands and offer congratulations.
Mrs. Coucher’s son, Fred Davis, of Carthage, Mo., was present. Her daughter, Mrs. Jennie Seibert, of Lebanon, Penn., was unable to be here. They received a telegram of congratulations from Mrs. Coucher’s brother, Henry Williams, of Boston, Mass.” The Chillicothe Constitution, December 1, 1916
