A message was received here this morning by Mrs D E Sites from Mrs Joseph Powell, formerly Miss Jennie Jones, which stated that Mr Powell died in Richmond, Va, last night at ten o'clock. No details were given in the message.
Mr Powell was known here by a number of people who will learn of his death with much regret. He married Miss Jones about four years ago and they have been living in Richmond most of the time since. He was employed as traveling salesman for the Atlas Cement Co and traveled over considerable territory.
Mr and Mrs Powell visited Mrs D E Sites and other friends here in September and at that time he was complaining somewhat.
He leaves in addition to his wife and parents, five sisters. The remains will be buried in Richmond.
