Carolyn Sue Lynch–Wells, age 75, of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 4:35 p.m. in Herrin Hospital, Herrin, IL.

Carolyn was born on December 31, 1940 in Sparta, IL, a daughter to Harry “Jack” and Wanda Lee (Cross) Lynch. She had worked as a social worker for Illinois Department of Human Services for 10 years. She was a past president and lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 6865, Coulterville, IL; a member of Ladies of the Moose, Mt. Vernon, IL; Ladies Auxiliary Eagles, Herrin, IL; Union Representative AFSCME; Fraternal Order of Police; Kaskaskia Valley Chapter of ABATE Illinois; and lifetime member of the SIUC Alumni Association.

Survivors include two sons, Ron (Karen) Hawkins of Birmingham, AL and Raymond Dodson (Angie Dargas) of Carterville, IL; two daughters, Carla (Mike) Ragsdale of Benton, IL and Robin Hawkins of Coulterville, IL; a daughter-in-law, Vicki Dodson of Centralia, IL; a brother, Harry Allen (JoAnn) Lynch of Valdosta, GA; twenty-eight grandchildren; a host of great and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harry “Jack” Lynch; mother, Wanda Lee Meyer; a son, Robert “Bob” D. Dodson; a brother, Gilbert L. Lynch; and a sister, Doris Ann Robey.
