WISE, VA. SEPTEMBER 27, 2016

Jimmy Garvin Miller, 69, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 26, 2016 at the Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Norton, VA. He was of the Pentecostal Faith, Proudly served as a Boiler Technician in the United States Navy aboard the USS Betelgeuse (AK-260) from 1967 – 1971, a retired employee from A&G Coal Co. and was a Master Mason of the Hoge Lodge #8 A.F. & A.M. of Wise, VA. He was preceded in death by the Love of his life, Linda Shupe Miller; and his parents, Corbitt “Nick” Miller and Margaret Tomko Miller. Surviving are a son, Eric Miller and wife Rhonda of Wise, VA; beloved grandson and best friend, Tristan; brother, Tony Miller and wife Donna of Wise, VA; sisters, Priscilla Killen and husband Bill of Wise, VA and Melissa Miller of Wise, VA; a host of aunts, uncles nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends; a special friend Janice Pilkenton; and cherished neighbors, Mack and Dee Williams. The family would like to extend extra special thanks to Wellmont Mountain View Medical Center, particularly Dr. Schuyler Geller and the nurses and staff of the Med/Surg unit. Funeral services for Jimmy Miller will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor Roger Barker officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. till time of services at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA. Graveside committal services and burial with Military Rites will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 29, 2016 in the Beverly Cemetery Wise, VA. Family and friends will meet at 10:30 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home to go to the cemetery in procession. In Lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Project P.O.
