William Benton Marck was born on May 18, 1839 in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of John Michael Marck, Jr., a cigar maker age 21, and his wife Sara Jane Bloxton, who was one year older at 22. Willie's father, John Michael was born in Pennsylvania on March 15, 1812. His wife, Sara Jane, was born in Virginia in 1816. When she married John Michael, she had always longed to return to her beloved Virginia. So when Willie was about 16 in 1855, she and her husband moved to Fredericksburg. Here he continued his business of cigar making, and Willie worked with his father, and soon established himself in the cigar making profession.

Mary A. "Louisa" Brown (Mrs. Robert Nelson Bloxton) and her sister, Amelia Brown, are referred to as the nieces of Frances Rebecca ELKINS Packard. Louisa's baby granddaughter, Ada Sanford, is buried next to Arba Randall PACKARD and his wife Frances Rebecca. Mr. Packard is listed as the source of info on the register of deaths for the Sanford baby.
Louisa & Robert Bloxton named their daughter born after Ada's mother, Louisa Bloxton Sanford, Amelia F. Bloxton Lawrence, so her and her sister's names were passed down to her daughters.

The first wife of my G-g-g-Grandfather, William Ashby Bloxton, was Lucy Clift Bloxton, the daughter of Fielding Clift and Elizabeth ELKINS who were married 31 March 1804. Lucy appears to have had brothers, Lawrence, Arthur, and Albert Clift. She named children with the middle names of Lawrence, Albert and Arthur. William Arthur Bloxton, one of these sons, lived with his grandfather, Fielding Clift, in 1850. Elizabeth (ELKINS) Clift was the sister of Benjamin ELKINS who married Frances Barber. Benjamin and Frances' daughter (Elizabeth's niece), Frances Rebecca ELKINS (b. 29 May 1816; d. 8 Sep 1887), married Arba Randall PACKARD (b. 29 Aug 1819; d. 26 Aug 1902), and her photo was in the family album of Lucretia Jett (Shackelford) Fines, along with the photo of Lucretia's cousin, Orion Bloxton, of Selma, Alabama. [Lucretia's grandmother, Catherine (Maddox) Proctor, was the sister of Benedicta (Maddox) Bloxton Fleury. It is odd that Lucretia's sister, Henrietta Catherine Shackelford, wife of Dr. Levi P. Dodge, named one of her two sons "Albert Arthur" Dodge. Maybe there is another connection of which I am unaware!]

Nathaniel ELKINS was the son of Ralph ELKINS (d. 1690, Stafford Co., VA) and his wife _____ Ashton, sister of Col. Peter Ashton. A book on the Monteith family discusses the English ancestry of Ralph ELKINS' wife. Nathaniel's brother was Richard ELKINS.
