Cumberland, MD – Nellie Francis (Cook) Dom, 93, of Cumberland, MD, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
 
Born November 6, 1922, in Cumberland, MD, Mrs. Dom was the daughter of the late Charles Cook and Laura (Boyer) Cook. 
She was also preceded in death by her first husband: John Burrall, MIA during World War II; her second husband: Ray Dom; a son: Larry Burrall; and a daughter: Becky Dom Ruppert; a close companion: Albert Clites; four brothers: Harold, Lester, Raymond, and Virgil Cook: three sisters: Idella Cook, Leona Morgan, and Myrtle Johnson; and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
 
A graduate of Fort Hill High School, Nellie was formerly employed at the Celanese Fibers Corporation of America and co-owner of Dom’s Market on National Highway in LaVale. 
She was a member of the Centerville Senior Citizens.
 
Nellie is survived by her children: Terry Dom and wife, Darlene, Midland, MD; and Doug Dom and wife, Cheryll, Centerville, PA.  She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Montana and Shiloh Dom: Aaron and wife, Mindee McDonald: Guy, Eric, and Curt Ruppert; and Donna Jean and Lori Burrall; as well as several great grandchildren.  Nellie is also survived by several close nieces: Idella Malamphy, Paulette Ahern, Bill and Joan Cook, Alma Kennell, and Kyong Shipley; a very special neighbor: Cheryl Hymes; her best friend: Dorothy Bell; and a host of friends at the Cumberland Meadows.
 
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Sunday, October 2, 2016, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., and from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
 
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday, October 3, 2016, at 1:00 P.M., with Reverend Wayne Turner officiating.
 
Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap.
