Sarah Louise Gallagher Becker, 69, of Warsaw, Virginia passed peacefully on Saturday, September 24, 2016 with her sons by her side. Sarah was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold M. Gallagher of Warsaw.
She is survived by her sons, Hank and Robert, a daughter in-law, Lowery, and first-cousin and sister, Carolyn Packett (Marion).
Sarah was a graduate of St. Margaret’s School and Hood College. She was a remarkably talented artist and musician and taught both throughout her life. She made music her passion and played the organ and piano for Warsaw United Methodist Church for over 25 years, along with countless other groups including the voicemails of close friends for birthdays, anniversaries and special events. She loved others and always had a smile in hopes of brightening someone’s day. She put God above all else and carried the Christian message everywhere she went. We are overjoyed to have had her home and surrounded by so many loving friends. We know she has entered Heaven with every bit of jubilation, jumping and love she had in this life.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 11:00 am at Warsaw United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 30, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Welch Funeral Home, Marks Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Department, Senior Safe Program at P. O. Box 1000, Warsaw, VA 22572, who always called and comforted her. Contributions may also be made to the WUMC Standing Rock Mission Trip at P. O. Box 291, Warsaw, VA 22572, so that others can share the love she had for Christ.
