A veteran of WWII, Dan served in the Pacific Theater with the U.S. Navy in their photographers group where he volunteered with the U.S Strategic Bomb Survey to photograph damage in Japan. After the war he worked for Dick Little Photography on Worth Avenue before beginning his own business. In 1958 he went to work for Pratt Whitney and retired after 30 years. Dan was also a drummer in a local band and a member of the Musicians Union, playing at various venues, including the Okeechobee Lounge.
He is survived by his sons, David Abdo (wife, Carmen) and William Abdo (Grisell); his daughters, Cynthia Pickell (husband, Darwin) and Virginia Reese (husband, Henry), all of West Palm Beach; his brother, Peter Abdo of Lake Worth, FL and nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family from 5:30 PM on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 with a Wake Service to be held at 6:00 PM. The Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 21, at St. Luke Catholic Church, Lake Worth, FL, with interment to follow in Memory Gardens, Lake Worth.
