Jewel "Jil" Buckner Crawford, 91, of Columbia, SC, passed away, September 20, 2016, at Jolley Acres HealthCare. Jil was born October 26, 1924, in Aiken County, SC to the late James Walton Posey and the late Ethel Gertrude Dean Posey.In addition to her parents, Jil was predeceased by two brothers: James M. Posey and W. Nicholas Posey; and a sister: Laura Jolley Martin.

She graduated from Columbia Business College. Jil worked as a General Court-Martial Court Reporter, Staff Judge Advocate at Fort Jackson, SC. She was a past member of St. Michael & All Angels' Episcopal Church.

Survivors include her daughter: Deana Houser (Nordie) of Orangeburg, SC; sons: Jeffry W. Buckner (Vickie) of Cheraw, SC, James "Jim" E. Buckner (Kathy) of Columbia, SC; grandchildren: James Houser of Orangeburg, SC, Stephanie H. Eskew (Robbie) of Greenville, SC, James E. "Jeb" Buckner, Jr. (Ann) of Columbia, SC, Zachary R. Buckner of Tampa, FL and Daniel D. Buckner (Hannah) of Columbia, SC; three great-grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home. The family will receive friends an hour before the service at the funeral home. Dukes-Harley Funeral Home assisted the family.
