David Cyrus Baskins, Sr., age 72, of Brandenburg, passed away at his home on Sunday, September 25, 2016.

David was born in Camden, New Jersey on October 5, 1943 to the late Revere Hetzel and Charlotte Stumm Baskins.

David was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving our country in the Vietnam War. He was a longtime member and on the Board of Directors for the St. Polycarp Catholic Church in Louisville, KY. David retired from Sears in Louisville after 37 years of service. He loved to fish and race his Figure 8 cars.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Patricia Ann Wardrip Baskins of Brandenburg; children, David C. (Julee) Baskins, Jr. of Louisville, KY and Tim (Samantha) Baskins of Brandenburg; sisters, Mary Nancy Snow of Haddon Heights, N.J. and Pat Danley of Washington, MO; and 4 grandchildren, Peyton, Dewey, Emilee and Lance Baskins.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 29, 2016 at St. John the Apostle Church with burial to follow at Cap Anderson Cemetery in Brandenburg.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from 1:00 – 8:00 PM and after 9:00 AM Thursday at Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home in Brandenburg.
