Bobby Gene Cox was born April 22, 1928 at Oswalt, OK to the late Mr. James Alvin Cox and Mrs. Eula Maud (Carlile) Cox. He departed from this life on Monday, September 26, 2016 at his home in Ardmore.

Bobby attended school at Pike Elementary graduating from Meadowbrook High School. He joined the Air Force in 1952 as a Basic Education Instructor. In 1953; Bobby graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State with a BS degree in Education. After graduating from college, he married Patsy Ruth Rigsby April 3, 1953. She preceded him in death on August 20, 2016. In 1974, Bobby received his Masters degree.

He taught in New Mexico on an Indian Reservation and then went on to teach in Oklahoma at Orr, Guymon, Turner, Terral, Graham and then retired from Mannsville Schools in 1985 as the Superintendent/Principal.

Bobby was an Evangelist and had tent revivals in many different states. He was Pastor of a church in Memphis, TN in the early 1960’s. He became Pastor of Central Assembly of God in Ardmore. After moving on from Central, he continued preaching the Gospel wherever God lead him. Bobby was a member of Crystal Rock Cathedral.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Juanita Dane, Aleta Gray, Faye McComber, Billie Griffin,, Sue Chambers and JoAnn Hyder; brothers, Delbert Cox, Punch Cox, Jack Cox, Hap Cox and Dean Cox; grandson Cody Wade and grandson in law Joey Mack Bailey.

Bobby is survived by his daughter, Pam Black and husband Philip of Ardmore; son Bobby D. Cox and wife Theresa of Ardmore; grandchildren Philecia Williams and husband Robert, Brandon Black and wife Tammy, Ashley Willis and husband Jared and Benjamin Cox; 11 great grandchildren, Cameron Williams, Kaytlin Williams, Mikayla Williams, Alexis Black, Blake Black, Brody Black, Addison Bailey, Colton Bailey, Ridge Willis, Olivia Cox, and Lane Phelps; and brother Jim Cox and wife Donna.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2 PM, Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Oswalt Cemetery with Dr. Walt Spradling officiating.
