George W. Abercrombie age 92 of Roswell, Georgia, passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord on September 26, 2016.

He was born in Roswell, Georgia. He served in the Army during WWII and served at The Battle of the Bulge. He was a charter member, deacon and served as choir director for many years at Northside Baptist Church. He was an avid runner and ran his last race at the age of 90 years old. His true loves were his family and his Lord.

He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 69 years, Leola Abercrombie.

He is survived by his three daughters, Gwen (Clay) Whitelaw, Sarah (Johnny) Stanford and Angie (David) Geiger; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Thomas Abercrombie; sister, Barbara and Charles Pettett.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northside Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 11:00am at Northside Baptist Church. Interment to follow at Green Lawn Cemetery.

The Abercrombie family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1pm to 3pm and 5pm to 8pm at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors, Roswell, 770-645-1414. www.northsidechapel.com
