DUANESBURG, April 20 - Private funeral services will be conducted from the late home for Asa M. Gaige, 70, who died Sunday afternoon after a long illness. He was the son of the late Joseph and Eliza Jane Gaige. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Roy Scranton of Watervliet, Mrs. William Furbeck of Settle's Hill and Mrs. John D. Wright of Duanesburg; one son, Walter, of Duanesburg, and several grandchildren.

Rev. Robert W. Chestnut, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Grove cemetery, Delanson. Mr. Gaige was born in Duanesburg and was a lifelong resident. He was a member of the Delanson Odd Fellows.

This tragedy brings it about that his grandfather, Asa M. Gaige, has lost a son and a grandson, as the result of accidents while at work. Gaige's son, Joseph, was killed a few years ago while at work in the shops at Colonie.

The barn buildings belonging to Asa and Isaac Gaige, farmers near Duane, were destroyed by fire Wednesday evening. Fourteen cattle were burned, besides a large quantity of hay and grain. The horses were saved.
