After completing her studies at Georgia College, Mrs. Hobby taught in the Baldwin County Public Schools for 30 years first as an elementary school teacher and later as a teacher of the gifted. She was active in her profession and was among the founding members of the Professional Association of Georgia Educators. She also served a term as that organizations statewide president.
Mrs. Hobby was an active member of First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She also loved the company of her bridge group and cherished the friendships she shared with the ladies who made up the group.
