He was born April 15, 1931, at Hillsboro, the son of Rudolph and Kathryn Cassler Kessler. A Moundridge resident for the past 33 years, moving from Newton, he was a maintenance repairman for Oxy Petroleum Co. Hutchinson.
He was a member of West Zion Mennonite Church and was a commander of Rosser E. Frases Post No. 340 American Legion, both of Moundridge and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 971, Newton.
On July 8, 1951, he married Randelyn Peters at Lehigh. She survives.
Other survivors include; three sond, Terry, Jay and Scott, all of Moundridge; a daughter, Valarie Mayta, Wichita; a brother, Gerald, Hillsboro; and five grandchildren.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at West Zion Mennonite Church, Moundridge, with Pastor Terry Zehr presiding.
Burial will be in the West Zion Church, Moundridge.
