WAGERS, Dwana Kay (Burns) Age 49, of Okeana, Ohio died on October 30, 2006, 6:30 a.m. at home, a victim of Melanoma Cancer for only seven months. She was born on January 10, 1957 in Hamilton, Ohio, the daughter of Peggy (Motzer) and Kenneth Burns.

Dwana attended Ross Local Schools where she was a member of the band and National Honor Society and was a 1975 graduate. She worked at Ohio Casualty, Hamilton US Post Office and up until her diagnosis was a driver for UTS. She also managed the concession stand for the Morgan Ross Athletic Association at Wurzelbacher Field for the last three years. She was a member of the Shandon Congregational Church.

On April 1, 1994 at Hamilton, Ohio she married Bill Wagers and he preceded her in death on December 16, 2003. Dwana was greatly loved by her family and friends and will be sadly missed by her sons Ronald (Michelle) Allen of Hamilton, Brandon Wooten and Cody Wagers at home and her grandsons Christopher, Michael, Maxwell and Kenneth and granddaughter Veronica Allen. She also leaves her brothers Norman and Rick (Barbara) Thompson of Hamilton and Kevin (Crystal) Evans of Darrtown, devoted nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and special friends, Jean Allen of Ross, Pam, and Lynn. Preceding her in death are her husband, parents and a brother Mark Burns in 1985.

The family would like to thank the Morgan Ross Athletic Association for the recent benefit in her honor. Funeral services will be held at the Charles C. Young Funeral Home, 4032 Hamilton Cleves Road, Ross, Ohio Thursday 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Don Thie officiating, followed by burial in the Venice Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. Memorials may be made to MRAA, 2679 Chapel Road, Okeana, Ohio 45053.
