AMY C. DREEWES LYMAN

Amy Passed away peacefully at her daughter's home on May 25, 2008 at the age of 95. She was surrounded by her loving family during her final days. Amy Chleo Cox was born to Ernest and Inez Cox on August 10, 1912 in Roseberry, Idaho. Amy was the ninth of eleven children and lived in Eastern Washington for many years. She married Rene Dreewes on June 9, 1929 in Kennewick, Wa and they soon moved to Seattle. Amy and Rene welcomed their daughter, Sharon, in 1941 and twin sons, James and Gerald, in 1943. Amy was a loving mother and was very involved with her children's school and other activities. Rene Dreewes passed away in 1957. Amy raised her three teenage children on her own with great love and strength. After her children were grown, Amy marred John F.Lyman on July 16, 1964 in Seattle. Amy and John moved to Shoreline and enjoyed time with their growing family. John Lyman passed away in 1979. Amy was very much involved in the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years and enjoyed their various activities. She was a member of Concord Chapter O.E.S. #245 and later, Daylight #213 and Occidental #28 Chapters. Amy also enjoyed volenteering in the thrift store at the Shoreline thrift store at Shoreline Senior Center. For many decades Mom took special pride in hosting a wonderful Swedish Pancake breakfast on Christmas morning for our entire family and their various friends. She also enjoyed her walks around the neighborhood and picking wildflowers. In 2004 Amy moved to Lake Stevens to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Don, where they took loving care of her until the end of her life. Amy is survived by her daughter Sharon and Don Bloom, grandchildren Susan (Ron) Bark, David Bloom, great-grandchildren; Krista, Ryan, and Caitlin Bark. Her son James and Linda Dreewes; grandchildren Teresa Johnston LaFoe(Dan LaFoe), Robin Miller, Jaime (Rob)Perry; great-grandchildren Sage and Reese LaFoe, and Rikki Miller. Her son Gerald and Randi Dreewes; grandchildren Julie Dreewes, Patrick (Jennifer) Dreewes. Amy is also survived by her youngest sister, Dorothy Liebel, numerous nieces and nephews and her brother-in-law, John Dreewes. Amy was predeceased by her husbands, her parents, and nine of her siblings.
