Mansfield --- The funeral for Alfred L. Allbee, 62, of Mansfield will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mansfield. The Rev. Wesley Hafner will officiate.

Burial will be in the church cemetery with military rites. Schriver's Memorial Mortuary, 414 Fifth Ave. N.W., Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today, and from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday, all at the mortuary in Aberdeen. There will also be visitation for one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church in Mansfield.

He died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, at his home.

Alfred L. Allbee was born Jan. 25, 1939, to Lloyd and Susan (Cooper) Allbee in Aberdeen. They lived in Northville until 1947, when they moved to Cresbard. He attended Cresbard High School and was a member of the 1957 State B championship basketball team. Upon graduating in 1958, he entered the U.S. Army and served until 1961. After receiving his honorable discharge he went to work for Ray Huss in Faulkton and attended Hanson Trade School. After graduating in 1963, he went to work for Art Hellrud Ford of Watertown.

He married Joan Adelle Krause on June 6, 1964 at Mansfield. In 1966, he joined Schuchard GMC Garage in Watertown. He worked there until 1973, when they moved to Mansfield and started working for Krause farms. In 1979, he became a partner and it became Krause-Allbee farms where he worked until his death.

He was a member of the Farmers Union and Trinity Lutheran Church.

He loved the land and enjoyed planting and harvesting the crops.

Survivors include his wife of Mansfield; one son, Thad (Denise) Allbee of Aberdeen; one daughter, Debra (Jeff) Peters of Webster; one brother, Harley Allbee of Aberdeen; and three sisters, Jan Gieseke of Shakopee, Minn., Geneva Van Rennes of Phoenix, and Verla Matthews of Altus, Okla.

Casketbearers will be Aaron Allbee, Gary Buckley, Larry Buckley, Bob Gieseke, Jim Allbee and Mike Harmon.
