James Oliver “Joe” Glover, 88, of Weatherford, TX passed away September 21 in a Fort Worth hospital. He was born to Joseph Ollie and Ella Pearl Christian Glover April 23, 1928 in Palo Pinto County. Joe was preceded in death by first wife, Mary E. Harris Glover; his parents; and all of his 13 sisters and brothers.
Joe is survived by his wife, Irene Glover of Weatherford, TX; daughters, Barbara Zimmer and husband, Ron Timmermans of Orlando, FL and Sandra Kobel and husband, George of McVille, ND; step-son, Steven Park and wife, Linda of Mt. Pleasant, IA; grandchildren, Brian Zimmer of Dripping Springs, TX, Tami Nichols of Coeur D’Alene, ID, Nichole Adrian of Hurst, TX, Michael Roerick of Tolna, ND, Dr. Mark Roerick of St. Cloud, MN, Michelle Roerick of Devil’s Lake, ND, Eric Kobel of Northwood, ND, Dr. Heather Timmermans of Richardson, TX, Aaron Timmermans of North Richland Hills, TX, Stephanie Schinstock of St. Paul, IA, Lindsay Cornick of Davenport, IA; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nephews and nieces.
At age 18, Joe joined his trade as an apprentice Ironworker and eventually rose to the level of project manager for a large steel erection company working various construction projects in locations throughout the western United States and one large project in Havana, Cuba. Then for 24 years he lived and worked in Englewood, Co before eventually retiring to Weatherford, TX in 1987. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #275, a 32nd Degree Mason, and a member of Scottish Rite and Moslah Shrine.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, September 26 at Grace First Presbyterian Church in Weatherford, TX with entombment following at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m., Sunday, September 25, at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel in Weatherford, TX.
