Sam Treat, 54, died at his home in White Hall district in Noble county Jan. 15 at 8:52 p.m.

Mr. Treat lived in Pawnee five years and moved away a year ago.

Mr. Treat had been in poor health for several years.

He had the flu and pneumonia which was followed by a stroke.

He was just seriously sick six days before his death, which was a shock to his many friends and neighbors.

His eye sight began failing him twenty-eight years ago, and for a long time he has been almost totally blind.

Services were held at the First Christian Church in Henryetta, Oklahoma, Jan. 17, 2:30 p.m. conducted by the pastor of the Christian Church. Interment was in the Salt Lake Cemetery.

Pallbearers were his friends of Henryetta, Okla.

Sam Paul Treat was born in Marshall, Arkansas, Nov. 14, 1887.

He came to Oklahoma in 1907.

Mr. Treat was married to Miss Bell Hendricks in Pawhuska, Okla., in 1913.

To this union four children were born: Clyde and Jess of the home, Mrs. Clester Helwick, of Lela, Oklahoma; Mrs. Shy Moore, of Pawnee, Okla. There are five grandchildren.

Then he was married to Mrs. Mary Roe, preached in 1933.

To this union one child was born, Clara Pearl, who survives.

He is also survived by his wife, two sisters and three brothers: Mrs. Mary McNair, Carlsbad, New Mexico; Ms. Tessie Horton, Osage, Okla.; John Treat of Delano, California; Silas Treat, Pumpkin Center, Okla.; Jess Treat, Hominy, Okla.

He moved to Pawnee with his family, five years ago, then moved to Noble County a year ago.

Mr. Treat was a farmer all his life until six years ago his health failed him, and he was not able to farm.

During his sufferings he always delighted in Joking with his friends and neighbors.

He was a good neighbor and the community mourns at his death.

Brady-Poteet funeral home was in charge.
