Jerry Duane Cripe Nov. 8, 1937 - March 12, 2014 ELKHART - Jerry Duane Cripe, 76, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at the Courtyard Healthcare Center in Goshen. He was born November 8, 1937, in Goshen, Indiana, to Oliver & Verma (Ford) Cripe. Jerry was a devoted father to his three daughters, Jenny Davis, Judi Genewick of Bradenton, FL, and Jeriann (Doug) Wilcox of Zionsville, IN. He was also proud of his four grandchildren, Oliver and Madison Davis, Zachary and Christopher Genewick. Jerry is survived by two sisters, Jaci Walters of Arbor Vitae, WI, and Dee Ann Todd of Bristol, IN. He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Cripe. Jerry retired from the Associates in South Bend where he worked for 40 years. A lifetime resident of Indiana, he was an ardent fan of the Indiana Hoosiers and the Indianapolis Colts, and combined these interests with attending all of his daughter's extracurricular activities. Per his request, there will be no public visitation or service. The family will hold a private ceremony at a later date. Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be sent to 3302 Grady Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46516. Memorial contributions in Jerry's honor may be made to the Elkhart County Humane Society.
