Alice Ellen "Sally" Henderson, 71, of Alma died early Saturday morning (July 19, 2003) at the Satilla Regional Medical Center after a short illness.

She was a native of New Mexico, but had lived in the Hurricane community of Pierce County most of her life. She was the daughter of the late John Bauler and Iris Logmouth and was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Gordon Norman Henderson Sr, as well as two brothers, Jake and Gene Bauler, and a sister, Ruth Porter. She was also a member of Beulah Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Gordon Norman Henderson Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Blackshear; one daughter, Lynnette Altman and husband Joey of Blackshear. Other survivors include five sisters: Irene Bauler, Barbara Martin and Mary Lou Williams, all of Hereford, Texas; Nancy Fluman of Mills, N.M. and Helen Sanders of Aztec, N.M.; six brothers: Phillip Bauler of Trinidad, Colo., Patrick Bauler of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jerry Bauler of Lubbock, Texas, Nathan Bauler of Springer N.M., Johnny Bauler of Thatcher, Ariz., and Danny Bauler of Hereford, Texas. Also, four grandchildren, Chip Altman of Atlanta, Chad Henderson of Waycross, Allison Henderson Hendrix and Christie Altman of Blackshear and one great-grandchild, Kyla Henderson of Waycross, along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held today at 11 at the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with the Rev. Clay Thomas and Rev. Fred Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Chester Hyers, Jacob Davis, David Carter, Stevie Altman, Larry Hendrix III and Barry Henderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Chip Altman, Allison Henderson Hendrix, Chad Henderson and Christie Altman.
