H.M. "Monk" McGehee, 68, of 4119 Bourland St., in Greenville, died Thursday in Shreveport, La. Funeral services will be in Coker-Mathews-Peters Chapel at 10 a.m. Saturday. Dr. James L. Sandlin and the Rev. John Cope will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery.
Born Dec. 20, 1902 in Hopkins County, he was the son of S.A. and Hattie McGehee. He married Jewell Cain April 29, 1925 in Greenville.
Mr. McGehee was a retired barber shop owner, an active member of the Central Christian church for 50 years and a member of IOOF.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Iris Lynn Prince of Greenville and Mrs. Patty Jean Serbanic of Shreveport; three sisters, Mrs. Carroll Little of Greenville, Mrs. Hope Nations of Dallas and Mrs. Raymond Little of Shreveport; and five grandchildren.
