Mr. Chandler was a son of the late Joe Henry and Sally Tilson Chandler and was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County.

He we employed as a machinist with Superior Home before retiring in 1975 after 17 years of service.

Mr. Chandler was a World War II Marine Corps Veteran. He was a Corporal, having served in the South Pacific and on the aircraft carrier USS Cape Gloucester. He was also the recipient of the Rifleman Marksman and Good Conduct Medals.

He was a member of Central Baptist Church.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Ezra, Claude, Guy and Clyde and three sisters, Creika Edwards, Eva Hensley and Addie Sexton.

Survivors include his wife, Jessie Maude Guinn Chandler and two sons.
