Otis Clarance Abner was born June 10, 1923 in Eufala, Oklahoma. He was the only child to Joe Abner and Lonie Richards Mathis, who both proceed him in death.
He grew up and attended public schools in Vernon, Oklahoma. Later, he moved to Oklahoma City where he attended New Hope Baptist Church and Unity Baptist Church. He was an active member of the choir and on the deacon board. Then, he attended Prospect Baptist Church where he was the oldest member of the church.
In 1985, he retired from the The City of Oklahoma City – Street Maintenance Department as the department supervisor after working there for over 30 years. He loved Westerns, gardening, and listening to music.
He departed from life September 15, 2016. He leaves his wife of 41 years, Geraldine L Abner of Oklahoma City, his children Otis C Abner JR, Selma Jean Wade, Erma Frazier, David Blane-Abner, Gerald Abner, and Ramona Abner; nine grand-children and seventeen great-grand children.
