KOUTS -- Frederick C. Rosenbaum, 92, of Kouts, died Saturday, March 12, 1994, at the Canterbury Place Nursing Home, Valparaiso.
He was born April 17, 1901, in Kouts, the son of Frederick H. and Bertha (Klem) Rosenbaum.
A lifelong Kouts resident, he had been employed with the Porter County Highway Department from 1918-1936 and then worked for the Foster Lumber and Construction Co. until 1961, when he returned to the Highway Department and worked with them until 1967. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church.
On Nov. 8, 1930, in Valparaiso, he married Marjorie A. Fitch, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Drelah (Elwood) Grieger of LaCrosse; a son, Robert C. Rosenbaum of Kouts; four grandchildren, Kristina and Timothy Grieger, and Kylene and Robb Rosenbaum; a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Jane Emily in 1932, a son, David, in 1950, two brothers, Harold and Franklin, six sisters, Eva Nelson, Anita Wiencken, Leila Walker, Melba Richards, Myrtle Bradley and Alma Rosenbaum.
Services 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Kouts; the Rev. Kent Wartick officiating; burial at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Kouts; visitation 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Kosanke Funeral Home, Kouts; memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
