Marilyn Louise Stegeman, age 89, of Quincy died on Friday, September 16, 2016, at 1:10 a.m. in St. Vincent's Home. She was born in Quincy on March 8, 1927, a daughter of Oscar and Florence (Altgilbers) Ostermiller. She married Leo L. Stegeman on April 29, 1950, in Quincy and he survives.

Marilyn was a 1945 graduate of Notre Dame High School. She then graduated from Gem City Business College where she was a member of Theta Alpha Chi Sorority. Marilyn was employed as a secretary in the Boy Scouts of America office. After raising five sons, she worked as the manager of the local S&H Green Stamps store. Before retirement, she was employed as a clerk at the former Key Rexall Store in the Quincy Mall.

Marilyn was a member of St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. She was a member of the K of C Ladies Auxiliary and the Ladies of St. Francis. Marilyn loved playing cards with family and friends. In her younger years, she played in a women's volleyball league and she liked going fishing with her boys. Marilyn enjoyed solving crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and going on family outings with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a devoted fan at her grandchildren's sporting, dance, gymnastics, and musical events, always ready to cheer on her loved ones. At the birth of a new grandchild, she crocheted beautiful blankets for each one. Marilyn's loving and caring nature was truly an example for her children and grandchildren. She had a welcoming smile for everyone she met.

In addition to her husband Leo, survivors include her five sons, Ronald Stegeman and his wife Clarissa "Ikie" of Apple Valley, MN; Donald Stegeman and his wife Cynthia; Paul Stegeman and his wife Jill; Marty Stegeman and his wife Laurie; Ken Stegeman and his wife Tammy all of Quincy.
17 Grandchildren, Brian Stegeman, Joseph Stegeman, Kyle Stegeman and his wife Sarah; Colin Stegeman; Melanie Stegeman; Stacey Lambert and husband John; Devon Stegeman and wife Erin; Cory Stegeman and wife Kristy; Kaitlyn Phillips and husband Joshua; Jacob Stegeman; Nicholas Stegeman; Kristen Stegeman, Michelle Stegeman; Matthew Stegeman; Andrew Stegeman, Abigail and Olivia Stegeman.
Four Great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Joy Ostermiller and a brother Ken (Virginia) Ostermiller.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church celebrated by Rev. More Torres-Torres, O.F.M. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
