By 1953, Farmer's Produce converted to a USDA inspected turkey plant and developed the brand name Jennie-O. Olson changed the name of his company to Jennie-O Foods in 1971. Jennie-O Foods was one of the first in the industry to develop a turkey hot dog in 1984. In 1986, the company became part of Hormel Foods Corporation and renamed Jennie-O Turkey Store. Today it processes over 1.2 billion pounds of turkey annually and is one of the world's largest processor and marketer of turkey products.
