Shirley Ann (Houghton) Grames, age 76, formerly of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully early Friday morning, September 16, 2016, surrounded by her loving family, at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster, Ohio. She was born July 1, 1940 in Jackson, Michigan to Ralph and Phyllis (Brown) Houghton. She was a 1958 graduate of Cement City High School, and on June 18, 1960, she married her beloved husband, James A. Grames Sr. He preceded her in death on April 30, 2012. Shirley worked for the Meijer's store in Maumee. Shirley devoted her time to her family and will be greatly missed by her daughter, Debra (James) Slaby; sons, James Jr. (Constance) Grames, Bryan (Sarah) Grames, Kevin (Chrystal) Grames and Gregory (Robin) Grames; 15 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Kenneth Houghton, Keith (Judy) Houghton, Donna (Rob) Williams, Patricia Houghton and Robert Houghton.Besides her parents and loving husband, James, Shirley was preceded in death by her grandson, Logan Grames; and siblings, Junior, Fred, Elmer, Larry, Joyce, Carol and Doris.Visitation was held at the Weigel Funeral Home, 204 Chestnut Street in Swanton. Graveside services were held at Amboy Township Cemetery in Metamora.Published in Toledo Blade on Sept. 18, 2016
