CHERRY PLAIN - Services were held Tuesday for John Dalton Adams, 80, of Cherry Plain who died at Putnam Memorial Hospital, Bennington. Saturday after a brief illness.

Mr. Adams operated a farm in Cherry Plain for
many years and was also employed by Robbins
Cambell Corp. in Pittsfield, Mas.

He was a member of the Petersburg Masonic
Lodge. Born in Cherry Plain, he was the son of Myron D. and Emma Austin Adams. He was the widower of the former Annie Higgins who died in 1976.

Survivors include two sons, John D. Adams, Jr.
and Wesley Adams, both of Cherry Plain; three daughters, Irma Maxon of Berlin, Thelma Chenail of North Adams, Mass. and Shirley Goodermote of Cherry Plain; 28 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held from the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home in Petersburg with Rev. Ernest Smith, pastor of the New Lebanon
Congregational Church officiating. Interment was in the Center Berlin Cemetery in Berlin.

Friends may contribute to the Utica Masonic Home in Mr. Adams' memory in care of the funeral home.
