Hazel Turner, 56, of Silver City, died Monday, Jan 24, at Hillcrest General Hospital after a long illness. She was born April 30, 1926, in McCoy, Texas, the daughter of Lewis and Lillie Cook Keene, and had resided in Silver City since, 1961.

Mrs. Turner was a member of the Indian Hills Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Glen Turner of Silver City; one daughter, Glenda Marie Balke of Silver City; two sons, Jimmie Andrew Turner of Silver City and Jerry Lee Turner of Red Rock, N.M.; four sisters, Iva Anderson of Weiser, Idaho, Maderine Duffey of Chino Valley, Ariz., Orlee, Hammack of Kennewick, Wash., arid Billie Joyce of Kalispell, Mont.; five brothers, Ernest Keene of Three Rivers, Texas, Willard Keene of Payette, Idaho, Clifford Keene of Calif., Leo Keene of Cottonwood, Ariz. And Marvin Keene of Truth or Consequences: six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Thursday, Jan. 27 in Indian Hills Baptist Church under the direction of the Rev: Cliff Hutchins. Burial followed at Memory Lane Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Lyman Greer, Dick Hartner, Terry Lewis, Waiter Anderson, Randy Keene and Francisco Limon. Arrangements by Curtis-Bright Funeral home.
