Mary Lou Adam, 77, Ellington, Mo., passed away Sunday, June 8, 2008, at the Advanced Healthcare Medical Center, in Ellington, Mo., following a lengthy illness. She was born on Dec. 13, 1930, in Rich Hill, Mo., to Arthur Benjamin Caldwell and Cora G. Millen Caldwell. She was married to William Adam on Aug. 4, 1949, in Kansas City, Mo., and he survives of the home.

Mary Lou was born in Rich Hill and grew up in this area. She graduated from Nevada High School, in 1948. Mary Lou worked in Civil Services for the Social Security Administration, retiring in April 1987. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and a variety of ladies' clubs.

Survivors in addition to her husband William, include: four daughters, Fabiene Dix, of the state of Hawaii, Valerie Skattebo, of Quincy, Ill., Sylvia Moss, Gardner, Kan., and Madeline Lee, Boyce, La.; five grandchildren, and one brother Robert Caldwell, of Mabank, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., on Friday, June 13, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, in Nevada, with Father Joseph Powers, Celebrant. Interment will follow in Mr. Calvary Cemetery, in Nevada.
