When Johan Peter Wenderoth was born on May 7, 1749, his father, Johan, was 43 and his mother, Margaretha, was 37. He had 3 brothers - Johann Jacob Wenderoth (Winteroth), John Adam Wenderoth, and Johan George Franz Wenderoth - and 5 sisters - Anna Maria Wenderoth, Anna Maria Catherine Wenderoth Jacob, Anna Maria Wenderoth (named for deceased sister), Anna Margaret Susanna Wenderoth Bird, and Anna Barbara Wenderoth. He married Anna Maria Michael about 1771 In Frederick County, Maryland. They had 9 children - Johan Peter Wenderoth (Winterote/Winterrowd), Mary Wenderoth (Wintrode) Bare (Bear), Margaret Wenderoth (Wintro) McCarty, Elizabeth Wenderoth (Winterrowd) Schnorf (Snorf), Sarah A Wenderoth (Winterode), Adam Wenderoth (Wintro), David Wenderoth (Winterrowd), John Wenderoth (Wintrow), and Daniel Edward Wenderoth (Wintrow).

About 1771, Peter married Anna Maria Michael who was baptized on 23 August 1752 at the Evangelical Reformed Church, in Frederick County, Maryland. Peter died between 1806 and 1809 in Warren County, Ohio. Buried in Snook Cemetery (possibly renamed as Deerfield Cemetery). Maria also buried there. Near South Lebanon. Graves of both were originally in a cemetery now part of a school yard, a little south of Snook Cemetery. Graves are neatly arranged in rows but too close together to be re-interments at Snook.
