Sophie Damjanovich, 87, and lifelong resident of Nashwauk, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, at Guardian Angels Nursing Home in Hibbing. She was born Feb. 14, 1919, in Nashwauk, the daughter of Mike and Helen (Novkovich) Bozich. Sophie graduated from Nashwauk High School, and was united in marriage to Dushon Damjanovich on November 17, 1940. She was a homemaker, and a member of St. Vasilije of Ostrog Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church in Chisholm. She is survived by her daughter: Susan (Tore) Johansen of Nashwauk; granddaughters: Tricia, Krista, and Kari Johansen; brother: Eli Bozich of Nashwauk; sister: Maryann Boskovich of Fridley; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Dushon; son: Dennis; sister: Mildred Madich; and brothers: Joe and George Bozich. PRIVATE GRAVESIDE SERVICES:for Sophie will be held at a later date at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing. Family services provided by Anderson-Daniels, a Bauman Family Funeral Home in Hibbing.
