OBITUARY:
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Belle Swearengin Gates, 78, of Beallsville, were held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock in the Beallsville Methodist Church, with Rev. Floyd L. Workman, of Barnesville, officiating. Interment was in the Beallsville Cemetery with the Harper and Campbell Funeral home in charge.
Mrs. Gates died at her home on Monday morning after an illness of three weeks.
Born near Beallsville on March 6, 1876, she was a daughter of William and Belle Jeffers Swearengin. She was a lifetime resident of Beallsville community and a member of the Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, William Allen Gates; a daughter, Mrs. Oleta Lemley, of Beallsville; a son, W. Harold Gates, of Barberton; and several nieces and nephews.
