Ledyard - Eloise A. Bingham, 65, of Avery Hill Road, Ledyard died peacefully at her home on Saturday.

She was born in New London, the daughter of Norman and Jenny Douchette.

Mrs. Bingham graduated from Manchester Community College and had worked at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford and, for over 35 years, at The William W. Backus Hospital as a respiratory technician and later as a cardiopulmonary technician.

She is survived by her husband, Edwin; a son, Tom Bingham and his wife, Jennifer; a daughter, Tammy Nowakowski and her husband, Jeffrey; her grandchildren, Joshua and Katelyn Nowakowski and Madison Bingham; her mother-in-law, Lora Crochere; brothers, Kevin Douchette, and Jeff Douchette and his wife, Christine; her brothers-in-law, Conrad, Leo, Richard, John and William Nowakowski; and sisters-in-law, Lolly Balcom and Robin Daly; many nieces and nephews; and a cousin, Bonnie Kilgus, who was like a sister.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Norman Douchette Jr., and father-in-law, Merle Bingham .

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 16, at the Byles-Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames St., Groton. Burial will follow in the Avery Stoddard Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday, Sept. 15.
