Old Resident of Valley Dies

Andrew J. Wells was born in Portage City, Wisconsin, May 12, 1853, and died at the family home in Polson, Montana, June 8, 1910, aged 57 years and 26 days.

July 18, 1884, Mr. Wells was united in marriage to Miss Laura Phillips. Four children blessed this union; three of whom are living and were with their father in these last sad days. They are Mrs. Sybil Slemmer, Deward and Nellie Wells. The fourth child, Charlotte, died in infancy.

Some seventeen years ago Mr. Wells brought his family to Kalispell where he was employed as engineer until something less than a year ago he came to Polson. But his hopes and desires of enjoying a home in the beautiful lakeside town were saddened on account of ill health. He had been suffering from Bright's disease for some time but did not give up entirely until about four months ago. The deceased was held in high respect by all who knew him. The sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved wife and children in this hour of sorrow.

Funeral services were held at the home today. The body, accompanied by the family, was taken to Kalispell.
