Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at First Baptist Church of Archer City with Adam Davis, Pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time at First Baptist Church.
Edith was born April 19, 1921 in Archer City to the late Charles Austin Lewis and Parkie Matilda Sherman Lewis.
She and Billie Joe Wright were married September 13, 1944 in San Bernadine, California.
Edith was employed as Director of Nurses when the Archer County Hospital was first opened until her retirement after twenty-four years.
She was a member of First Baptist Church. Her greatest accomplishment was being the best mother to her children and family.
Survivors include her husband, Billie Joe Wright of Archer City; two sons, David Wright and wife, Vicki of Archer City and Eddie Wright and wife, Jana of Bennington, Vermont; one daughter, Connie Nowell and husband, Joe of Corpus Christi, Texas; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one sister, Anita Mills of Wichita Falls.
She was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Wright on February 2, 2015; three sisters, Beatrice Stewart, Violet Lacey, and Mary Black; and four brothers, J.D., Newt, Herman and Ott Lewis.
The family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 756, Archer City, Texas 76351.
