Ruby Heidt was born in Childress, Texas.

Ruby graduated from Sanger High School and later attended college in Fresno and the University of Hawaii.

She went to work at the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (U.S.D.A.) starting as a clerk, and was promoted several times, finally to the Executive Director's Assistant. She retired after 26 and one half years.

Ruby worked as a volunteer at the Clovis Hospital and Fresno Community Hospital.

She was a member of Cross Point Church and taught Bible class.

A special thanks to Helen DeFreitas, Lorraine Cox, Gerri Underwood and Nancy Locke for their valuable help the last few years. Also thanks to the staff at Oakdale Heights.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Heidt; parents, George and Minnie Highnote; siblings, Bonnie Smith, Ruth Smith, Blanche Smith, Lois Thompson, Earl Highnote, R.T. Highnote and Clarence Highnote; nieces, Helen DeFreitas, Reeda Jorn, Pauline Walker, and Oweda Colar; and nephews, Raymond Smith and Richard Smith.

She is survived by nephews, Walt Thompson and Roy Thompson; and nieces, Lorraine Cox, Jeanette Reed, Debra Conklin and Elaine Ruth.

Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Monday, December 11, 2006, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

A Graveside Service will be held at Fresno Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, December 12, 2006, at 11:00 a.m.

Remembrances may be made to St. Agnes Hospice or to your favorite charity.
