She was born April 17, 1936 in Marion County. She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Patrick Greenwell, Sr. and Mary Ann Mattingly Greenwell; two sisters, Jane Box and Julia Gosser; two brothers, Pete and Johnny Greenwell.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Jim Thompson; one daughter, Debbie Roberts of Arkansas; one son, Glenn Thompson (Mary) of Louisville; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; seven sisters, Gertrude Hebel of Shepherdsville, Margaret Greenwell of Bardstown, Patricia Johnson (David) of Mount Washington, Sheila Greenwell of Somerset, Louise Staton of California, Martha Thomas and Linda Greenwell both of Louisville; five brothers, Stephen, Louie, Bobby, Ronnie and David Greenwell all of Louisville.
Cremation was chosen. Services will be held at a later date. Mattingly Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
