Amanda Ann Claiborne Cooper, 86, 913 Cottage Avenue, died Thursday morning at a local nursing home after an extended illness.
Born in Fentress County, Tennessee, she had resided in Anderson, Madison County, Indiana, for the past 29 years.
She is survived by five children, Mabel York Geer, Elliot Murdock and Harrison Maynard York, all of Anderson, Indiana, and Mamie York Abston and Ethel Eve York Brown, both of Monterey, Tennessee, 15 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
