William “Meredith” Allgood, 78, of Dinwiddie County, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at his residence.

Born in Mecklenburg County, VA he was the son of the late Howard Sydney and Lena Griffin Allgood.

Meredith retired from FRITO-LAY after 28 years of service,
and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. He was part of the Gospel Way Quartet for many years and enjoyed playing music in his backyard music building with his friends.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sisters, Christine Matthews, Mary Sue Yancey, Doris Mathis, and brother Ryland Allgood.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Allgood; a daughter, Cynthia Crowder of Dinwiddie; one son, William Glenn Allgood and wife, Sandra of Farmville; three
step-children, Sandra Barlow of Virginia Beach, Nell Thomas and husband, Danny of Matoaca and Robert “Junie” Beale of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren, Bryant Lewis, Brandie Crandall and husband, Phil, Allan Hardy, Jr., Glenn Allgood, Jr. and Andrew Allgood; step-grandchildren, Amy Cutrone, Jason Barlow, Eric, Lindsey and Brandon Hines and Tera Thomas; four great-grandchildren; five step
great-grandchildren; two brothers, Huston Allgood and wife, Jean and Patrick “Butch” Allgood and wife, Mary; four sisters, Marie Hunnycutt, Edith Nicholson, Joyce Wilson and Judy Glasscock and husband, Joe.

A special cousin, Ray Allgood and his family in Canada; his beloved Jack Russell, “Fancy”; and numerous nieces and nephews.
